Cortez Beautification Community Design Workshop
The City of Cortez will be re-building the South Broadway highway medians, planning for pedestrian improvements downtown, and designing the entryways along the Highway 491, 145, and 160. We want this project to reflect the character, heritage, cultures and landscapes of our community.
Construction of the South Broadway medians will occur during the summer of 2013, but traffic will not be impacted as much as it was with the recent paving project. Planning for the downtown improvements and highway gateways will consist of conceptual design work at this point. The City wants a cohesive approach to all three aspects of beautifying Cortez.
Cortez Heart & Soul invites you to a public design workshop for the South Broadway medians, downtown pedestrian improvements, and highway entrance features on Thursday, February 28th from 4-7 PM at the Cortez Recreation Center. Presentations will occur at 4:15 & 5:45, but feel free to drop by anytime. Illustrators from the design team will be there to capture your input, or you are welcome to draw your own! FREE childcare & refreshments will be provided for participants. Please bring YOUR ideas so this project reflects our community’s character. We have heard already that this project is a great opportunity to represent our diverse community through art and sculpture, landscaping, concrete design work, etc. Come make it happen!
